Fairy
The Eagle Nebula is a young open cluster of stars in the constellation Serpens. Both the "Eagle" and the "Star Queen" refer to visual impressions of the dark silhouette near the centre of the nebula, an area made famous as the “Pillars of Creation” imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope. The nebula contains several active star-forming gas and dust regions, including the Pillars of Creation. In the North-East direction considering the Pillars of Creation we can find another column of very extended substance, known as Column V and called the Spire. At the end of this structure there is a cocoon with ions at high speed; it could be a HH object. In this region there are multiple components of maser emissions with water.
“I am known as “The Spire” (La Guglia). I am the 5th Column of the Eagle Nebula. I am made of powders and gas, and I am the cradle of new stars, life. I am soft and light, structure in the air… I am lying on an obscure pedestal… but I live, I always smile and I am always about to fly... I am the infinite Spirit of the Universe and with my beauty I fulfil the dreams of those who are still able to love... I am the Fairy, the Fairy of the Eagle Nebula.”
